Wedding Singers - Magic!

As a close up magician, I often improvise and ad-lib my performances. For example, I can't plan on closing my act with a watch steal incase no one is wearing one.
I've never been one for sticking to a set act or script, because someone may say or do something, which could take me in a completly different direction, and you wouldn't want to miss out on a brilliant opportunity.

Sometimes the most memorable moments happen 'off the cuff'.

With that it mind, I was at a wedding show at the weekend hosted by Bridefayre.
Amongst the entertainment was my friend Richard Comfort, a Wedding Singer
You can hear him sing HERE
Richard has been a professional vocalist for over 20 years, and I've had the pleasure of hearing him sing at a number of wedding fayres. He has a large repertoire of songs covering a wide variety of styles.

Another singer Natalie Nightingale, I met for the first time on Sunday.
WOW. Visit her website to hear her sing

She can sing! A guest had asked if she could perform any 1940's songs, and she did. Right there!

It wasn't planned, but it was a memorable moment.

As was the duet Natalie and Richard performed. Completely off the cuff, as someone had happen to mentioned they should sing together.
No planning, no rehearsal, just two professionals at the top of their game.

You can view a video of their fantastic performance on the Bridefayre facebook page HERE

Rothley Court Hotel Magic

At the end of February I was booked to perform at a dinner meeting, for the UK's leading pub company.

I had the pleasure of performing at one of their hotel's, The Rothley Court Hotel.

Enriched in history it begins with a mention in the Doomsday Book of 1086, although originally a Roman Villa existed on the site. The beautiful Manor House Hotel with fantastic stained glass windows, is set in around 10 acres of grounds. The buildings history is linked with the Knights Templar, and William Wilberforce's work to abolish slavery.

A great looking venue for weddings, with beautiful surroundings for the wedding photo's.

After having recently undergone a refurbishment, the bar area is now extended.

There are 3 different functions rooms. I was performing in the Templar Room.

The Knights Templar Chapel still stands today next to the Manor House.

The Hotel also houses a beautiful tapestry in the reception area, and two original stained glass windows, depicting knights, can be seen at the main staircase.

I received great feedback on the evening, and hopefully I'll be there again soon!

Dovecliff Hall Wedding Magic

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of performing at Dovecliff Hall Hotel, for their Wedding Fayre.
Such a beautiful wedding venue.
Dovecliff Hall Hotel is an elegant Georgian House nestled in the picturesque Staffordshire countryside, which is one of the most idyllic Wedding Reception Venues Staffordshire has to offer. You can relax and enjoy your special day in the most elegant of surroundings.
They currently have an exclusive offer on weddings, so contact Helen, Laura or Sarah on 01283 531 818 or pop in and see them anytime!

I was kindly invited by the event organisers Edward Lewis Weddings, who hold wedding fayres at some great venues including Eastwood Hall, The Derbyshire Hotel, and Scalford Hall.

I was performing accross from Andy who owns Booth Photo

Decor Chic created the spring decor, which looked great as the light shone through the room.
A great attention to detail, as their chair covers are custom made to fit the chairs at Dovecliff Hall.

Postbox For My Wedding had some great postboxes on display, including 'The Bling'!
A great idea for guest's to place their cards.

Wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses were on showcase, courtesy of Treasure the Day Bridal

You can get one-off designs, and a made to measure personal service.
To discuss any of your dress ideas and requirements to create your dream wedding dress, contact Rachael on 07748 680528.

I'll be performing at Dovecliff Hall again in the Summer for a Wedding, and I can't wait!

Only a couple of wedding fayres left and then it's busy performing at Weddings right through until the next Wedding Fayres in September.

You can see me performing at the following events:

  • Sunday March 16th 2014 - Makeney Hall. 11am - 3:30pm.
Lots going off at Makeney next Sunday courtesy of Bridefayre Wedding Events. Here's what they have to say:

"The Bridefayre wedding bus stops at MAKENEY HALL. We so wanted to go back when the spring flowers are out and this is what we're doing, it's a spring has sprung special at this Beautiful Venue in the Derwent Valley. Because it's a bridefayre one, we're all doing it a bit - well... differently. It's turned into a bit of a fun theme to celebrate the passing of the winter. We have - the awesome Ciccio's Wood Fired Pizza oven right there in the car park! We have our favourite vintage bakery doing Cheeeeeesecakes and Key Lime Pie, maybe a cronut too! Then we have a casino inside, not just any casino, we have casino royale with full "Bond my wedding" 007 theme to it, and of course, we have the bling, we have dresses, LOTS of dresses from Stately Brides and Emily Jane, we have singers, we have cakes (wedding cakes) and flowers from two of our favourite florists. Lady Victoria Chic (it's a wedding car) will be there with her friends and me, the DJ. Hair and Beauty from Appearance.. Venue dressing from two very different suppliers who are both highly recommended, more magic, more... well come and see! Makeney Hall is just off the A6 at Milford"
